field trip

15 : Unnecessarily thrilling...

"The two from earlier should experience it by helping each other. When the tide comes in, we’ll stop, so start quickly."

The kids wandered around the mudflats and had a great time experiencing it.
By contrast, the two of us moved slowly.

We spent the time slowly digging for shellfish and watching the crabs move around.

"So this is what a mudflat experience is supposed to be, right?"

"Probably."

It’s boring beyond belief. What’s so good about this sticky stuff that they’re giggling like that...

"Han Taeri."

"Huh?"

"Ta-da-"

Sanghyuk held up a lugworm right in front of my eyes.
Since I can’t stand bugs, I sprang to my feet.
I couldn’t forget the scene of it wriggling right in front of me.

"Lee Sanghyuk...!!"

"Ah, sorry, sorry haha... I didn’t think you’d get that startled..."

"I really got scared!! Where is it...?"

I looked around and searched for the crab I’d seen earlier.
And I tried to put it on Sanghyuk’s shoulder.
Sanghyuk dodged, and we kept running around the mudflat.

"Eek-!"

Then I slipped in the mud.

Splat-

Lee Sanghyuk grabbed my arm, and I barely managed not to fall. Since yesterday, why do I keep tripping like this...

"...!"

I thought it was my arm, but he was gripping my hand tightly.
All my nerves focused on that one hand.

It let go right away.
Without saying anything, I bent down again and kept my eyes on the ground.
My hand still feels a little warm...
I squeezed that hand once for no reason.

So needlessly fluttering...
