Episode 11: There Was Not a Single Person

"Life is such a bitch."
I wiped the tears streaming down my cheeks with the back of my hand and went to work as if nothing had happened. It was bitter to not be able to do whatever I wanted, but I wasn't angry. I was already used to this shitty life.
Come to think of it, I never had the freedom I had at work. Wherever I went, my bodyguards, my father's eyes, followed me, watching me closely, so I had to be careful about every move. So, I couldn't help but feel uneasy.
"Mr. Han, what's wrong? Your complexion doesn't look good."

Thinking of my father, I felt a pang of unease, so I left my department for a moment and stood on the balcony of the break room, breathing in the fresh air. My chest finally felt a little relieved. I had to have dinner with Taehyung today, but I couldn't go in this mood.

The room was filled with silence. The chairman, who had been drumming his fingers on the desk as if contemplating something, finally made up his mind and called out to his secretary outside the door.

The former secretary, who came out of the chairman's office, sat down in his seat and pondered how to carry out the task the chairman had asked him to do.

Former Secretary and Jeong-guk has been working as the secretary to the chairman, Yeo-ju's father, for five years. He's a reliable and dedicated worker, which is why he's been by her side for so long.
Every time I saw Yeoju, who grew up in a prison-like household, my heart ached. At first, I thought it was just common sympathy, but it wasn't pity. It was love. For five years, I watched Yeoju alone.

In this situation, there was only one thing Jeongguk could do: follow the instructions and pretend not to see anything.
