Episode 7: The Visit

"So, where is Mom now?"

지훈

"He's probably staying with relatives in his hometown, a little far away. We have to go there, but I don't know if he'll welcome us."

I rode the horse I'd been keeping in the stables and raced across the meadow. I think I was told I'd find it if I followed the river.

Without giving it much thought, I just ran east. Perhaps it had been a while since I'd run, but the horse seemed to be excited and going faster. That was better.

Before I knew it, I arrived at an unknown river.

Suddenly, giant figures emerged from the grass and began to surround Ji-hoon and Yeo-ju.

Judging by the weapons they each carried, like spears or axes, they seemed to be scouts. They gradually closed the distance, but Yeo-ju and Ji-hoon slowly raised their arms, and they stopped.

Then, it was Ji-Hoon who calmly but confidently shouted at them.

"Tell the chief's sister that her own children have arrived."

He seemed a little surprised, then lowered the weapons he had been threatening and led the way into the village. Yeoju was relieved that Ji-hoon had come to the right place.

Now, they are escorted deep into the village by scouts and guided to the chief's house.

부족장

"Aren't you nephews?"

"Yes, that's right. I came from far away to see my mother here."

부족장

"Ah... Call your little sister for a moment."

The person standing in front of the door ran off somewhere and soon brought my mother in. She seemed to have regained her complexion, and it was pleasant to see her looking healthy.

For a moment, she looked back and forth between Yeo-ju and Ji-hoon, then embraced them. They, in turn, embraced their mother and faced each other.

"We... decided to kill my father. I think that was the best choice for everyone."

Then people were surprised. After all, it wasn't normal for children to come to their mother and say they would kill their father.

"I'm sorry, but we didn't come here to ask permission. We came here to take your mother."

After a moment of hesitation, he took Yeo-ju and Ji-hoon's hands and nodded. Ultimately, he agreed to even that and decided to devise a plan together.

"For now, the three of us should go and pretend to listen. He's still suspicious."

여주

"...What if I said I'd marry someone my father had his eye on? He'd probably throw me a party."

Ji-hoon was a little surprised when the word "marriage" came out of Yeo-ju's mouth. But since it wasn't a bad thing, he responded positively.

지훈

"It's not a bad plan... Are you okay with it?"

여주

"Once this is over, there's someone else I want to marry, so it's okay."

He remained silent after that, wondering if it was really okay. Judging by the silence that flowed, he seemed sincere.

"Okay... Then you should sleep here tonight. Even if you go back now, nothing will change."

"...Okay. Thank you, Mother."

어머니

"No, it must have been harder for you all to come all the way here, so just rest now."

여주

"...yes."

They quietly left the tent and headed somewhere else.

"Sister, I guess you're really serious about wanting to marry that guy."

여주

“I came all the way here for that one thing, so why are you doing something new?”

The female protagonist spoke as if nothing had happened. Ji-hoon, still unable to believe her words, asked again.

지훈

"...I didn't know that my older sister would personally suggest such a plan."

여주

"So, after this is over, please make my first wedding a success."

Ji-hoon felt a little relieved when the female lead smiled. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't regret it." Ji-hoon quietly headed into the tent.

여주

"Really, I want to believe that."

I wasn't even sure if he wanted to marry me. That uncertainty made me even more anxious. If I let him go like this, I'd only regret it.
