The man in my dream
at las

It's already been three weeks since I've waited for him, the man I was supposed to meet in real life. As expected, he hasn't appeared in my dreams since that dream. To be honest, I've been struggling to hold on to the longing for him every single day.

But I couldn't just wait for him, crying like before. The dream where he whispered his love to me and told me we'd meet in real life was the support that sustained me, allowing me to live. But there was nothing I could do. I desperately wanted to see him.

이세하
"...Let's go to work... We'll be late."

As I walked down the street, I thought about the last time I saw him. A few minutes later, I arrived at the cafe where I work in a flash. I turned on my phone and checked the time. I was definitely not late. With a sigh of relief, I went into the cafe, changed into my uniform, and left again.

이세하
"hello"

김성아
"Hi~ Seha, I heard it's going to rain this afternoon. Did you bring an umbrella?"

As soon as I left, Seong-ah asked me with a friendly smile. She really does have a way of making people feel good. I felt a bit healed when she smiled.

이세하
"Huh... Really??.. Ah... I don't have an umbrella... I'm screwed....."

I hadn't even heard that kind of weather forecast, but Seong-ah's words frustrated me once again. I hate rain, but I came without thinking much about it, thinking I'd be late today. I was dazed for a moment, and then a guest arrived.

I took the order. I frantically took another order, and another. And time flew by. My shift was almost over. I looked over the customer's shoulder through the transparent door, checking the weather.

이세하
"Oh... I'm screwed..?"

I'm going to get rained on today. I swallowed my bitterness and offered a wry smile to the customer. After taking the last order, I changed out of my uniform into my regular clothes and was about to leave the cafe. But then someone grabbed me from behind.

김성아
"Seha! You said you didn't have an umbrella, right? I'll lend you mine. Use this today, and return it to me next time."

이세하
"Yes..yes? Then what about you, sister?"

김성아
"Me? Ah~ Don't worry. I brought an umbrella because it was supposed to rain today, but I also had one in my bag before and forgot to take it out. I have another one for myself, so don't worry and go in!"

Seong-ah smiled kindly again, handing me an umbrella. "Ah... this woman is an angel." I thanked Seong-ah, left the cafe, opened my umbrella, and walked slowly down the street.

The rain poured down like a torrent. It had been three weeks since I'd seen him, even in my dreams. The dream where he kissed me and told me he loved me, suggesting we meet in real life, was truly ecstatic. It was thanks to that thrill and ecstasy that I was able to live again for three weeks.

But now, I felt like I couldn't hold on with just this feeling. I walked in the rain. I closed my eyes for a moment, thinking I'd see him if I opened them again, so I closed them and slowly opened them, looking around.

이세하
"...No matter how much I want to see it, this doesn't seem right..."

박지훈
"....hey.."

I heard a familiar voice behind me and turned around. Then, what I saw was the man I'd longed to see. He was standing in the rain, holding an umbrella, looking at me.

이세하
".....!!"

We actually met in real life. Truthfully, I'd been waiting for him, half-heartedly. But we actually met in real life. I lost my umbrella. I couldn't believe it, so I covered my mouth with both hands and stared at him.

The rain, falling steadily, soaked into my hair, my clothes, my body, and he approached me. I ran straight to him and hugged him tightly. I did something I couldn't do in my dreams, but now, in reality, I did it.
