Daydream
1. Ring

Tears flowed from the woman's deep, clear eyes, seeping into her pure white ones. She raised her head, which had been bowed, and looked at the man, her eyes filled with resentment. She was the woman who always looked at him with a calm expression.

A bird in a cage can't do anything. But that doesn't mean it's dead, right?

The man's eyes widened at the woman's words. She was a woman of few words, but her heart was stirred. He had felt compelled to push her away, yet he had unconsciously drawn closer. A marriage born of political maneuvering. The woman gazing at him with a look of resentment was his wife.

I'm a human too

I thought she was a strong woman, able to withstand even deliberate indifference and neglect. I knew she was real because she always told him it was okay and treated him with a calm demeanor.

I am also a person with emotions.

Resentment and flowing tears pierced the man's heart. Realizing his mistake, he took a step closer to the woman. His actions caused the woman to back away.

The man felt fear at the resentful expression he saw for the first time. If this continued, she would leave him. Feeling uneasy, he reached out his hand to the woman.

He held out his hand to her, as if to urge her to come closer, as if to tell her not to leave like this. If he sent her away like this, she wouldn't return.

The woman closed her eyes at the first man's gesture. The tears that had been flowing silently stopped. She opened her eyes and looked at the man standing before her. Her family. She no longer harbored any lingering attachment to the man she had cherished on the day of her wedding.

The man, who should be holding her back, refuses to let go, but whose mouth remains closed, can only extend a trembling hand, gripped by a sense of unease. He will catch her. She has endured everything, so she will accept him this time too.

The woman smiled weakly at the man. A gentle smile curled her lips, and she closed her eyes. Then she removed the ring from her finger and handed it to the man.

Don't do that, ma'am

The man before Youngin's eyes paled. A fear he had never felt even on a battlefield gripped his entire body.

..please send it. I'm leaving.

At the woman's words, the hand he had been holding out dropped to the ground. Even though their eyes met, the distance between them remained unchanged.

The long-awaited result was finally here. It was something to laugh about, but the man's expression was pale.

She turned around and looked at him.

She left.
