A Cruel Fairy Tale (Hidden Story)
What a love story

Once upon a time, there was a king in a certain country who had three princesses.

All three princesses were extremely beautiful, but the youngest, Psyche, was so beautiful that she even made the goddess Aphrodite look pale in comparison.

The temple of the goddess was deserted as people flocked to the palace to praise Psyche's beauty.

The goddess of beauty was angry at the outrageous insults of the humans, so she decided to give Psyche, who was so beautiful that she surpassed even the gods in human status, a taste of the truth.

So he called his son Eros and asked him to shoot an arrow that arouses the hearts of both men and gods at the disgusting girl, causing her to fall in love with the ugliest man in the world.

Eros was delighted to play a mischievous prank and quickly went to where Psyche was.

But when he saw a girl more beautiful than his mother, whom he had thought to be the most beautiful in the world, he was so shocked that he ended up stabbing his heart with an arrow of love.

At once, the poison of love spread from the wound in his heart throughout his body, and Eros fell in passionate love with Psyche.

Eros, who had been scattering love, did not know what love was, but when he became a prisoner of love, he was so overwhelmed by sweet heartache, shame and joy, anxiety and hope that he did not know what to do, to the point where he began to doubt whether he was even one of the gods.

Eros was afraid of being scolded by his mother Aphrodite for failing at something, so he hid himself.

But somehow, the man who wanted to marry the beautiful Psyche never showed up.

In fact, Eros was playing a trick in the middle, out of sight, to prevent men from approaching Psyche.

Meanwhile, the first and second princesses married princes from neighboring countries.

However, since there was no marriage proposal for the most beautiful Psyche, the king and queen became worried and sent someone to the temple of Apollo to ask for a revelation from the god.

God's revelation was terrifying.

According to the revelation, Psyche was to be dressed in mourning clothes and given in marriage to a blue-bearded monster.

Of course, it was Eros who asked Apollo to do it.

Psyche heard the divine revelation and comforted her grieving parents, saying that she would willingly submit to her fate.

Psyche was a princess who was not only beautiful but also possessed great wisdom and courage, and was confident that she would be able to navigate her destiny.

Bluebeard was a member of the royal family who lived in an old castle on top of a mountain. He had married and divorced several women, and there were scary rumors going around that all of his divorced wives had disappeared or that they had all been beheaded.

Even after deciding to marry Bluebeard, the king was worried about the youngest princess and said that he would send a selected army in case of emergency, but Psyche smiled and said,

프시케
Father, don't worry about that. If anything, Apollo must have told me to marry Bluebeard just to spite him.

프시케
There must be some reason behind this.

프시케
Also, if the gods really hate me and want to take my life, then no matter how much I try to run away, it will be in vain.

The king lamented Psyche's excessive beauty, but in the end, he had no choice but to do as his daughter said.

On the day of her wedding, Psyche, dressed in mourning, was taken to a castle on a mountain and left alone.

When night fell, Bluebeard appeared and took Psyche to a magnificent bedroom.

The groom had a terrifying blue beard that covered his entire face, and his chest and back were covered with thick, hard blue hair, giving him the appearance of a bronze giant.

But Psyche somehow didn't think Bluebeard was such a scary monster.

That's because, despite Bluebeard's terrifying appearance and rough voice, there was a hint of caution in his eyes, and a hint of bravado in his demeanor.

Bluebeard spoke to Psyche in a harsh tone.

푸른 수염
No matter what happens, you must not try to see my true self.

푸른 수염
If you do that, you will lose your life.

프시케
You said it was his real appearance, so is it scarier than his current appearance?

푸른 수염
Yes, that's right.

프시케
I don't think so.

프시케
I just think you're a really gentle person.

Bluebeard looked a little embarrassed, but then his expression turned stern and he said.

푸른 수염
You shouldn't take me lightly.

푸른 수염
Let me say this again, you shouldn't turn on the light in the middle of the night and look at my sleeping face.

That night, Psyche went to bed in the darkness and received a tender love that Bluebeard could not have imagined from his outward appearance.

The softness felt like being covered in the feathers of a white bird, and the smooth skin felt like being touched by a newborn baby.

But the most important couple's bond didn't seem to be sealed.

After the first night, Psyche spent the day being attended to by invisible servants, and at night she fell asleep in the darkness, caressed by her husband.

However, it was no different from the first night when it did not reach the level of a couple's relationship.

As her suspicions grew, Psyche finally decided to find out who Bluebeard was.

And then the fire was lit.

Sleeping curled up in the same bed with his back bent was Eros, a handsome boy with an innocent face.

프시케
Oh my, so cute.

Psyche cried out in a small voice without thinking.

Beside the bed lay the pure white wings that Eros had shed, and on the wall hung the bow and arrows he had used in his mischievous pranks.

Psyche carefully hid her wings and arrows, then undressed Eros while he was asleep and lovingly caressed him.

But Eros was still a child.

Psyche, who learned the reason for the couple's failure, pulled on Eros' symbol of chastity out of mild disappointment and mischief.

Eros, stimulated, opened his eyes with a start.

Eros realized the situation and his face turned bright red as he tried to run away, but he couldn't find his wings or his bow or arrow.

Eros was captured by Psyche and held in her arms.

에로스
I am the god Eros. Let me go. If you don't, I will tell your mother.

Eros screamed and struggled, but Psyche gently stroked his head and whispered.

프시케
Eros was such a cute young master. So what on earth does he want from me?

에로스
Love me. I want you to marry me.

I thought I wouldn't be able to get married, but Psyche smiled and answered.

프시케
Okay, but will Mother and the other gods approve?

에로스
Most people, except for my mom, would probably agree.

Eros said innocently.

에로스
Zeus, Apollo, and Athena would certainly welcome someone as beautiful as you as a fellow god.

At that moment, Aphrodite appeared with the words, 'That can't be done.'

아프로디테
What the hell is this? Lying to my mother and committing lewd acts with this woman.

Eros desperately protected Psyche from her mother, who rushed at him in a terrifying rage.

Psyche, who had been pale, was a little relieved to see that the goddess of beauty she had seen up close for the first time in her life was a middle-aged woman with a slightly changed complexion and who did not seem very wise.

So, he knelt down on the floor and begged Eros to allow the two to marry.

Aphrodite's anger seemed to have subsided somewhat, but she still spoke without smiling at all.

아프로디테
But first, I will test you rigorously to see if you are fit to be Eros' bride.

Eros gave Psyche a reassuring wink.

에로스
It's okay. Don't worry too much, I'll help you secretly.

But Psyche had no intention of marrying this innocent boy.

When she brought out the wings, bow, and arrows that she had hidden, a thought suddenly occurred to Psyche.

Psyche pretended to stagger and quickly shot arrows into Eros's buttocks and Aphrodite's buttocks.

The effect was tremendous.

The mother and son soon became passionate lovers and returned to Mount Olympus without a care in the world, not caring about Psyche.

There are various theories about what happened after that, but the truth was as follows.

An awkward situation arose on Mount Olympus.

It is said that Aphrodite and Eros acted openly as lovers and a married couple, and when Ales, who was having an affair with Aphrodite, came to visit, they humiliated him and drove him away, causing the gods a headache.

Furthermore, they were worried that this scandal would become known to the human world, so they held a meeting with Zeus at the center and came to the conclusion that they should have Eros marry Psyche, at least in appearance.

So it is said that Psyche was invited to Mount Olympus and became a companion of the gods.

Also, Psyche burned the bow and arrows she had before ascending Mount Olympus, so that from then on, there would be no more stories of the gods suffering from love fever due to Eros's mischief.
